I just spent a thousand dollars on four different types of services and items.

I seriously need a savings plan....

My punishments:
1. No more cabs for the two months, until after Chinese new year!
2. No more credit card payment for the next two months. Until Chinese new year week.
3. No more super good and expensive meals - gotta spend only ten bucks per day on food!
4. I hve got to find a freelance job! To support my current spending power, I will need an extra 500 bucks!

I like animals...

Since young, I'm a Enid Blyton's book fan.

I read about the naughtiest girl in school....about how the schools own their own mini zoo....

and since then, I want to start such mini zoos in Asian countries and that's when I started the NTU Animal Lovers' Society.

I was thinking big...

Long term plan to really own a mini zoo in NTU. Something like the Animal Resort concept. Open to the public. Making NTU one of the tourist attraction in Singapore.Bringing joy to little kids. Being an Animal shelter for the unwanted darlings... Not easy indeed....how to sustain? Of course lots of sponsorships will be needed. We will also need to run a little business. Allowing people to adopt pets from the shelter.

Short term plans: Definitely voluntary works to work in different farms, pet clinics, animal shelters on a weekly basis. That's where one can get experiences to take care of the animals!

And now...I've graduated. I can't do any of the above anymore. I still want to do something related to animals. Know what? I want to be an animal trainer....an animal show presenter. I want to give my love to the pets n animals that I've always longing for a connection with them.

I have no idea how this will work. Part time? Full Time? Freelance or Voluntary basis...I dunno. What I do know is that I need pets/animals in my life....

There's a grooming centre near my place...and I've always wanted to walk in and volunteer myself as their "receptionist". But where's my guts. I've got to walk in one day....

I do miss Looney. my previous doggie, currently with Jasmine. Wonder how is she doing now.....

I bought a Full HD JVC Video Cam at last...

My initial budget was only at 500 bucks but later decided i should invest on a good Full HD Cam.....there, at last I own a Full HD Cam...

Now I can continue editing....I'll bring my cam along with me every important outings....trips....occasions...and I'll have my own collection of nicely edited videos for everyone's viewing pleasure...

Next! At last I bought plane tickets to Bali with my friends! Another one down!

It was a really bad night...

First, I got o li tu again...middle of the night at about 2 plus...

Then I couldn't go to sleep, because I was worrying about my work stuff again....

Till 4 plus, I slept....

Did I really sleep? I only remembered I had a nightmare...a bad one that I cried...my tears woke me up.....

Once upon a time, KL was called by her boss back to the office. She overheard that her two colleagues got a huge increment in their salary. One by one all other colleagues went in to talk to their bosses......all seem v happy with the increment...

Until the last, it was KL's turn....

Boss said. You've always been going late to work and your work performance has been bad. No increment for you!

KL is usually earlier to work than all her other fellow ID works colleague....out of disagreement with the statement, KL replied, I've always been earlier than the others, my work performance has been satisfying. Please check with the project IC, she will be able to tell!

Boss then quarreled with me....no idea what's the content.....but of coz, my ultimate goal is to get an increment of at least 15%.

Until the next day, i refused to work. I was on site, Boss was on site, everyone else was, site issues arise and no one can solve them, of course except me and the project IC,..... But the Project IC is in the office handling other works.....

I still refused to help....

Then, ring ring ring....my alarm clock wakes me up....

Don't get me wrong. My boss is a very nice person. This will not happen between myself and my boss. Probably I feel that I need money....money no enough now......that's why I worried too much, that it is now haunting me at night...

Very nice hainanese curry rice! 2.50 only! This looks like what our banglas bayar eat everyday....just like what the china workers eat everyday....

This is not my usual lunch....

Lunching usually at vivo, seah Im or harbourfront centre...sometimes colleagues will help packet...

But I am hoping I can eat more of this 2.50 hainanese curry rice which I got from bedok block 85....cold but still so super duper good....

It was hilarious this morning....

After meeting with boss, I went to site with Javien. On the way, my usual visitor came by.....stomach pain, or I call it o Li tu...knowing that the site container toilets smells as good as a pool of dead rats and as clean as the waste management dump place....I have no choice but to go to the site office female toilet....only a female colleague is holding on to the key...

I tahan...tahan...half way, I know I can't anymore...still I tahan....almost there..kamling jia you! I called the key "holder"...

"Melinda, this is an emergency....I need to go to the toilet...very urgently....can you please bring the key out to me? I meet u outside the site office...."

"ok...ok..."

Without thinking, I passed my bag to Melinda, and rushed to the toilet.....

What a relief!

Looking into the mirror, I look like I have just gave birth to a fatty baby....

Thinking hat not on my head

Down. That's the only word I can describe my current feelings.

Disappointment. That's the only feeling I have towards myself.

Change. That's the only thing I am thinking of, but not knowing how to do so...

Alone. That's the consequence if I do not change.

Situation: I always know that I am one who will easily hurt people's feeling as sometimes I do not think before I act....or even if I've put on my thinking cap, I will still not know what's right or wrong. That's bad, as we're all living in a world connected to each other.

I really do appreciate every single friend, family who pointed this out to me. I truly want to apologize to those whom I have hurt before. Please believe that I never have bad intentions to hurt anyone.

Thank you to those who understands me, as someone who is true to myself and not hide. Act when I feel it's right (yes, when I, me, myself feel it's right...not knowing what others will think of me).

Sometimes I regret. Sometimes I do not know what's the consequence. Sometimes I need to bear the consequences.

I want to change to a lovable person, and know what to say at the right time, to the right person. People do ask me, are you in communication studies. Yes, I am. But I do not know how to communicate well to people....

Do I miss my previous home? Well, a little....probably the doggie. We called him the Starhub dog. He loves freedom too!

But I love my current place more, that I've started to forget about my previous room....and can't wait to get home everyday!

Lang Ley came to help me shift room on Sunday. Thanks!

She was shocked to see all my boxes and luggage, which I will want to fit them all into a normal cab, Oh! Plus me, plus Dato, plus Lang Ley and plus the cab driver.

Yes it was a success to fit everything in.-

My current home:

Here's my current place's living room. Nice huh? Owner not staying here. But there's other tenants. Owner's daughter, who is a tenant too, and another female tenant.

Usually if I rent a place, I will not stay around in the living room, including sis's place in Punggol. But it's different now. I love hanging around in the living room, watching channel 5.....at least that's what I did today, and it was relaxing.

And this is the cosy corner, where I will go online everyday using Wireless@SG. Here's where I'm sitting and typing now.

Moving in, the bar top shelves, with the ever familiar Kingsmen bar stool. The first bottle from the left is my birthday gift from Thai Express.....which I am dying for a chance to share it with someone....anyone....

On the left, we have the kitchen, with my dinner packet in the red plastic bag, not knowing where to throw it, as i do not want to throw that into the general dustbin...aaii, gonna walk out to throw this later....

Moving in......my room.

Furnished with:
1. 3 door wardrobe ( 2 for clothes, 1 more storage)
2. A single bed
3. IKEA wall mounted photo frame - still thinking whose photo to put....hhmhmmm....Mum if you are reading this, of course I'll leave one space for you. Well, since PY puts my photo in hers, alrighty! You're in too.......3rd and 4th. We'll see....

6. 2 top shelves which is too tall and I can hardly put anything there.

New Place, new room, new people, new me?

Topic: Moving House (no, not Wee Li Lin's docu's kinda "house")

Reason: Saving money (economy crisis le, gonna save more money for the rainy days)

Steps taken: Look for a cheaper rental room.

Requirements: Common room, air-cond not required but rental must include internet and PUB must be $400 or below, with washing machine, FULLY furnished, no baby at home.

Field reports:

1. Found one room @ Tampines Block 507. Room rental as advertised is at $450, with photo attached. The room is indeed very nicely furnished, with the queen size bed. Very new. Owner is a newly wed young couple, with a little puppy at home. Totally love this place. She was willing to lower down the rental to $400 because she was looking for a dog lover as the tenant, as her previous tenant mistreated the dog. Happily, I agreed to rent the place. Both the owner and I happily agreed to the agreement.....until....

She called me 2 days before I shift in and to sign the agreement....

"Sorry, I'm pregnant and my husband does not want to rent out the room because he wants me to leave the room to my mum n sis to come and take care of me"

...............................

I'm left speechless....and homeless.....

Mission: Find a room in 2 days.

Option 1: Chai Chee = Block very far from bus stop and MRT. Room with old furniture. $400. Result: Red light.

Option 2: Block 29, behind Bedok CC, Utility room but very nicely renovated, and fully furnished. All new furniture. No owner, staying with owner's daughter only. $350.
Result: Yellow light

Option 3: Bedok Block 35. House far from MRT. Not well furnished. Rental @ $450.
Result: Red light.

I'm left with OPTION 2. Which is where I'm staying. Indeed I am happy with my room though it's a little small but it's my cosy corner everyday. The few turn offs are:

1. Internet additional charges to be paid to owner's daughter.
2. Next to toilet
3. Low floor

The great few points:
1. Just behind CC. Can join activities!
2. Very near walking distance to MRT and bust stop.
3. Very nicely furnished room, so stylo, with a IKEA wall mount IKEA just at my bedside!
4. Nice housemate next door. (so far so good)
5. Freedom

So ok la....for $375 per month, it is considered a good deal and good choice. Let's hope I'll stay long!

The Confession of a Shop-cheap-holic

I was at Singapore Expo today.

Hall 5B - Adidas Fair

And how can Kam Ling not attend such fairy event?

I was supposed to meet Dato at 12pm at Expo....but I was kiasu enough to wake up early, and reach expo bus stop at 10 plus, when Adidas Fair's door is opening only at 11am. So I thought, wahaha, I must be the first to enter the room, and shop without hassle, with no aunties and uncles squeezing into the crowd, stepping onto me. So I wore high heels and mini skirt.

Happily I walked pass Hall 3, Hall 4. Wahaha, it was so empty! Until I reached outside Hall 5! I saw a long long queue there! So i thought probably the queue will only be until Hall 6. I was so so wrong.....It was all the way until Subway! Almost to the MRT. Kiasu me, joined the queue of course. Though I did think of a way to get in through backdoor, since I'm pretty familiar with the backdoor....but probably there'll be a security there.

Happily I bought a $60 dollars adidas gym shoes, a $30 dollars adidas shoes,
an adidas $20 dollars sports bikini wear and a adidas $25 dollars sports top.

The above mentioned are my first ADIDAS collection.

Next, Robinson Fair! Met Dato and went into Robinson Fair which is not that crowded. Bought a $9.90 pillow, and two dresses at $20 each by hypnosis...I wanted to continue shopping....but I can't.....$$$$ no enough.

I attended IT show last week....and spent $500 plus on camera, card reader, thumbdrive and mouse too....

I'm a shop-cheap-holic....

New Toilet

This is probably my 4th or 5th blog now! I forgot where's my other blogs...Don't ask for the web addresses...

Probably BE knows I never stay long for anything....I shifted into this new room for 4 months, and I'm leaving now. I was changing jobs pretty often too.

Would that happen in relationship? I wonder

I'm always loyal to what I'm engaged with. Be it my job, my friends, etc...Won't betray.....but I get bored with things easily....

Homeless me aka CNN girl

Room rental @ S$380, including PUB, at a location near Bedok MRT. New bed set.

I was excited to read this ad, arranged for a room viewing, and totally love the place. The landlady was nice and we were able to connect to each other very well too.

So immediately that night itself, I told my current landlord that I'll be shifting out. He seems a little disappointment as he needs to find a new tenant. My rental is his income every month.

He charges me S$490 and I am not provided with a proper bed. Just two sofa beds.

Well, by accepting the Room rental @ S$380, I've saved S$110 per month.

As usual I will broadcast the news to everyone around me. Including my Kingsmen Team C colleagues.

I was happily telling them about this great deal....until I was asked by my colleague, Faz, what is the name of this owner?

I told him....and his first reaction was: "She's psychopathic!"

He called his friend, and was told she is always depressed, always quarrel with her boyfriend, and will cry and cry...will pick on little little things, such as shoes not lined up properly.....shower head not put on properly.....

I was glad I am a CNN girl...or I'll regret staying in.

I smsed her saying I found another place to stay.

Now I need to start finding a room all over again.......or I'll be homeless by end of this month.

Funny thing is? I advertised on 3 different platforms, stating there's room for rental in Bedok....that's my room.

MONEY MATTERS....when you have no money...

I always spend almost every single cent of my salary every month....

Well, probably saving about $100 dollars per month ONLY....

I spend a lot on entertainment, good food and some shopping....on top of the LOANS, FEES and my room rental fee...

But I have one whole list of things I want to get and do:

on 18/3

1. DVCAM - I love videography but never own a proper cam!

2. Holiday in Bali with Mum - Mum suddenly said she wants to visit Bali! I always love mum, of course I will go with her for a great relaxing holiday

3. Holiday in Bali with friends - Jumping from the edge of a "something" Yes! Bungee Jump!

4. Scuba diving - Tioman, Phuket, Redang or Bali.........even better Great Barrier Reef! I want to obtain the license...

5. Sign up for one of the facial treatment packages - Very expensive ah....a reasonable one is about $700!

6. Shopping in Hong Kong with Sis

7. Backpacking to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and probably to Thailand!

8. Backpacking in Europe

9. New Zealand working holiday

Turning left.....aiming straight

By joining the working force, I have greater responsibility now. To my company, to my family, to the society and to myself.

Being a graduate with major in electronic broadcast n media, I love production shoots. I enjoy the pre-production process... I love the sense of achievement when I've got great ideas, great contacts and good job done for the shoot...and I always wonder if I will get an award in any of the prestige film festivals. But yes, I know that's only my passion. Probably not my long term career...

I have now ventured into a non-familiar industry - exhibitions, but I always wonder if I can achieve anything out of it.

I started work on 13/10/08....and today I am officially a confirmed full time employee in my company. Glad to say, my pay increment is indeed pretty attractive too. With a good working environment and friendly colleagues, and a non-mundane job, I really enjoy working in my current company...I love jobs which I do not need to stay in office throughout. I get to go on site....and I am so looking forward for oversea projects too....

everything just seem so perfect.....

...but I've lost my dream's direction....

I want to be an entrepreneur.....

I want to own an events company......which main business is animal events management. Yes, probably you won't find this in Singapore. Maybe only in Sentosa or Singapore Zoo. I want to turn animals into artistes....into stars. Yes, just like BOLT, just like firehouse dog.

Why? How did I come across this idea?

Of course, I love animals. But they are so often mistreated. They deserve attention and love, just like us.

Animals, if well-treated and well-trained can be a great companion and bring lots of joy to kids too. They can be at the center of attraction, just like a star.

It is indeed challenging to venture into such business area, as it's never tried before, at least in Singapore, but like what my friend Chee Lap said, I always go the non-ordinary way. At times, I may fail, and regret too. But that's where I learn and dare to explore more. Yes, I am still the usual me. I will continue exploring....

Of course, I am in the exhibition line, which has little knowledge gain for me in the animal events management line. That's what I'm concern now.....

Will my goals be side-tracked by turning left and will not turn back into the correct straight path?
